Get Covered for 2018 at Free ACA Health Insurance Enrollment Event Dec. 9 -- Don’t Miss the Dec. 15 Deadline
On Dec. 15, the Health Insurance Marketplace closes for 2018. Eligible Illinois residents who don’t enroll in a qualified health plan by this date may miss out on coverage for the year.
Whether an individual is enrolling for the first time or re-enrolling for 2018, SIHF Healthcare makes signing up simple by hosting a free enrollment event on Sat., Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn St. Louis-Fairview Heights, 313 Salem Place, Fairview Heights, Ill. The event will give people one last chance to secure health insurance coverage for 2018.
During the event, certified Health Insurance Navigators from SIHF Healthcare will determine if individuals qualify for low-cost insurance through the Affordable Care Act or for no-cost state-sponsored health coverage. If they do, Navigators will walk them step-by-step through the enrollment process and verify if price breaks or tax credits are available to assist with any costs.
To enroll, attendees are asked to bring a valid photo ID, proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residence, Social Security numbers, and income verification.
“Missing the enrollment deadline for health insurance means individuals will go uninsured until this time next year,” said James Spinner, business development director for SIHF. “Having a policy in place is critical to maintaining a person’s overall health. Our trained and certified health insurance Navigators will be available up to the very last minute to assist individuals in finding a plan that meets their healthcare needs and their budget.”
