SIHF Healthcare in Red Bud, Ill. Celebrates National Health Center Week
SIHF Healthcare is celebrating National Health Center Week 2017 (NHCW), August 13-19, with public health screenings across southern Illinois and charity donation drives at its more than 30 health centers.
What began as a pilot project during President Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty in 1965, today’s community health centers serve more than 23 million people nationwide, many of whom are uninsured or underinsured. As the second largest Federally Qualified Health Center network in Illinois, SIHF Healthcare operates more than 30 health centers in the region. Offering Family Medicine services, SIHF Healthcare – Red Bud provides families with affordable, compassionate healthcare at one convenient location. The health center is located at 824 Locust St. in Red Bud, Ill.
“At SIHF Healthcare in Red Bud, my team and I are very excited to celebrate NHCW and to have yet another opportunity to serve the people who call Red Bud home,” said April Walls, health center manager of SIHF Healthcare in Red Bud.
SIHF Healthcare is celebrating National Health Center Week 2017 (NHCW), August 13-19, with public health screenings across southern Illinois and charity donation drives at its more than 30 health centers. In recognition of NHCW, SIHF Healthcare in Red Bud is accepting school supply donations for Red Bud Elementary School. They are also taking donations for small bingo prizes that can be given out to patients at Red Bud Senior Center, located at 1445 West Market Street. The health center is also having an Insurance Navigator on site on Wednesday, August 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help patients navigate the health insurance system free of cost.
