August 14, 2017

SIHF Healthcare is celebrating National Health Center Week 2017 (NHCW), August 13-19, with public health screenings across southern Illinois and charity donation drives at its more than 30 health centers.

What began as a pilot project during President Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty in 1965, today’s community health centers serve more than 23 million people nationwide, many of whom are uninsured or underinsured. As the second largest Federally Qualified Health Center network in Illinois, SIHF Healthcare operates more than 30 health centers in the region. SIHF Healthcare – Vandalia provides families throughout the community with both Family Medicine and Pediatric services. The health center is located at 1510 Sunset Drive.

“My team and I look forward to celebrating NHCW every year, and truly appreciate the opportunity to give back to organizations that make such a positive impact on the community, such as 6:35 Pantry,” said Elizabeth Rose, health center manager of SIHF Healthcare in both Vandalia and Salem, Ill.

In recognition of NHCW, SIHF Healthcare in Vandalia is accepting food item donations for 6:35 Pantry, located at 200 W. Johnson St. in Vandalia, Ill. For more information, contact (618) 283-3144.
