What is Migrant Health?
The Migrant Health Program was established to provide access to healthcare for the Migrant and Seasonal Farm worker community. After an extensive study, it was determined that this specific community lacked access because of several different barriers. These barriers include language, income level, lack of transportation and no medical insurance.
Migrant Health is a Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation program designed to overcome barriers that prevent the migrant and seasonal farm worker community from reaching access to healthcare services.
What services are offered?
Instead of going to the doctor’s office, the doctor’s office goes to the patient! A medical mobile unit equipped as doctors’ office visits various locations at convenient hours. Primary care services and health screening services are offered. A bilingual staff is on board to better serve those individuals that don’t speak English.
Who can be served?
Anyone who works in or has worked in agriculture (including their families, retirees, disabled farm workers)

We can schedule a visit on your site, or you can help us keep the employees informed where we will be offering services.
What is the cost for services?
There is no cost to the Farm owners for this service. A sliding scale fee is applied to the patients based on salary and the size of their family. The Mobile unit is completely self-sufficient so there is no need for electrical hook ups or the use of a bathroom.

Healthcare on Wheels (Mobile Unit) is open: Outside Ranchito Restaurant every Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
